The principles of social and environmental responsibility are demonstrated in Argentina
For many years Silvateam has been committed to respect the environment and to participate in the social improvement of the local communities in Argentina.
The Group has been established in the province of Chaco since the beginning of the 1900’s. First with the name Noetinger & Lepetit SA, which was founded in 1904 by Emilio Roberto Lepetit who was a leading figure in the history of the holding company. Today, Indunor which is part of the Silvateam group produces vegetable tannins, furfural and furfuryl alcohol using mainly quebracho wood (Schinopsis lorentzii) as a raw material. Quebracho trees are very common in this province, which represents the primary economic resource of the entire district of La Escondida, Argentina.
Silvateam has set up one-to-one relationships with the people of the area and has a high regard for the requirements of the local community and the environment. Thus one century later, the company still operates in the region while using the same well-established principles:
- Promoting the social and economic well-being of the employees
- Creating new opportunities for the development of the community where the company is located
- Protecting the environment and preserving natural resources
- Sharing the benefits of the economic actions
