Ledoga works in conjunction with three plants located
in the Piamonte region (North of Italy). An average of 12,499,900sqf (350,000m3)
of chestnut trees—abundant in the subalpine zone of the region—is
annually processed in these facilities. Once the extraction is made, the
remaining wood is used in natural fiber particleboard and plywood panels
as well as packing paper.
The strategic location of the Fornoli facility (Bagni
di Lucca – Toscana) helps ensure efficient wood exploitation and
liquid tannin supply to the sole leather producers of the region. Besides
that, the largest Italian plant engaged in semi-chemical paper production
for corrugated cardboard is sited in these 86,112sqf (8,000 m2) premises.
The Toscana facility which includes a new warehouse
completed at 2001 year-end is situated in Castelfranco di Sotto—the
heart of the leather industry—ensuring customer service efficiency
to the tannery community.
The Cosenza facility (Calabria region) spans an area
of about 6,458,400sqf (600,000m2), 409,032sqf (38,000m2) of which are
covered surface.
The annual chestnut extraction of the three plants
totals an average of 17,000 tons turning SilvaTEAM into the major worldwide
chestnut extraction producer.
