Industria Chimica Lombarda was founded in the 1930s by Enrico Matei, the later founder of ENI, the Italian oil giant. All along these seventy years in the oil business, the ICL brand has taken the lead in the Italian tanning industry.

In 1999, both the ICL brand and the related technology were acquired by SilvaTEAM. At present, ICL products stand for continuous development making use of the latest methods to meet the increasing demands of world-class tanneries.
